The National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy (NCKP) is a biennial meeting of keyboard music educators, researchers, and industry leaders representing all fifty states and over a dozen other nations. Celebrating 35 years of excellence and innovation in music education at the keyboard, the mission of NCKP is to enhance the quality of music-making throughout life and to educate teachers who are dedicated to nurturing lifelong involvement in music-making from the earliest to the most advanced levels. Scheduled for July 29-August 1, NCKP offers participants four inspiring, innovative, and challenging days at the splendid Westin Lombard Yorktown Center in Lombard, IL.
Our keynote speakers, teaching demonstrations, and PEDxV presenters will have you captivated in your seat in the Grand Ballroom. Plenary sessions are carefully scheduled so that all participants can attend.
NCKP brings you music each day with a variety of concerts. Whether you are enjoying a noontime recital over lunch, a mini-recital with pre-college pianists, or the Conference Artist, you will be dazzled by the skill and artistry of these accomplished performers.
Creative Pianist and Technology Tracks
NCKP 2015 will offer two comprehensive tracks of pre-conference sessions, workshops, and events that run throughout the entire conference to invigorate your understanding of creativitiy and technology. Click one of the banners below to learn more.
Seven seminars will take place on Wednesday afternoon, July 29 and are divided into teaching area, enabling you to focus on the sessions that matter to you most.
Offering a wide array of practical subjects, workshops give you the chance to attend sessions with dynamic clinicians on the topics that interest you, all in a smaller setting. 6-7 workshops are scheduled at once.
Research Posters and Paper Presentations
The NCKP Research Committee reviews research posters and papers from across the country and around the world to bring you the latest in music education research. Selected research papers will be read at the conference, and poster presenters are available to share their findings with you every afternoon outside the Exhibits.
